Chomarat and its partners have received five of these awards in recent years. Chomarat won an Award in the United States for its C-ply™ Bi-Angle reinforcement, in partnership with Dr. Steven Tsai (Stanford University) and Dr. Sung Ha (University of Hanyang). The biaxial carbon reinforcement helped to lower both the weight of composites and their production cost. 2012 ChomaratwonaJECInnovationAwardinEuropein the Thermoplastics category, along with Arkema, PPE and 3B, for an innovation involving the development of thermoplastic composite parts. 2013 Chomarat won an Award for KittyHawk™, the revolutionary wingless aircraft designed by VX Aerospace. The aircraft structure’s low weight and structural efficiency properties are due to Chomarat’s C-ply™ composite reinforcements. The results obtained were the fruit of the collaboration with Stanford University, the University of South Carolina, and the University of North Carolina. 2015 Chomarat was awarded for its collaboration in the Fast RTM project, which demonstrated the feasibility of mass-produced structural automotive parts made of composite materials. Partners: Arkema, Compose, Faurecia, Hexion, Hutchinson, Composite Integrity, Sise, Pinette, P.E.I and Renault. 2017 Chomarat obtained an Award in Asia with its partners, Neilpryde and Cobra. The Group supplied a carbon reinforcement with an innovative design that enabled its partners to make an unusual ultra-light sailboard with enhanced performance. 2017
